Apple officially introduced iOS 27 with advanced artificial intelligence features, enhanced Metal graphics APIs, and upgraded real-time background processing. To deliver smooth performance, Apple increased minimum hardware baselines for memory and Neural Engine throughput.
As a general rule, iOS 27 requires an Apple A14 Bionic processor or newer (iPhone 12 generation and later). Devices equipped with older processors lack the unified memory bandwidth and 16-core Neural Engine throughput necessary to compute on-device AI tasks smoothly.
